In a while....

yep it's true it has been quite some time since i posted . i've been busy ...kinda . So today i was bored thinking about this year and how great and shitty its been at the same time. And since all my toughts lead to music , i decided to make a a lil' mix tape of songs from this year that i think made my year . the first song reminded me of going to denver to see justice with duran and stef . we had a fun drive . we needed a ticket , so we simply got fate to lead us to justice themselves . they happened to be outside the laundromat where they were doing their laundry . xavier was kind enough to put us on the list. diplo opened and stuttered thru his set and at some point yelled "what's up detroit " hahaha guess he was homesick . he is is still a badass . which takes us to the second track . remain by jose gonzalez . it has that sad feeling to it and his droning voice carries you interconnecting the melodies , mike sheridan does the remix and he does a good job a it . speaking of doing good at your job ...lazaro casanova has been busy doing remixes and touring as well as his recent endeavor petFood . i had the chance to chat with him about lots of stuff a lil bit ago , but that is just another post in itself(soon to come) . spacer woman is just a classic i love it and everytime i hear it it makes me smile , i've heard several versions of this song and im not sure who did it first but this version is my favorite its by charlie . its 4 on the floor backbone, synthy bass and haunting voice make it one of my favorite italo disco songs . grafton primary is two brothers and a drummer . these aussies really have some kind of funk to their "electro-noir"sound , added this is the miami horror remix which is one of my favorites of this year. speaking of siblings the jets was an cheesepop group that was made up of 8 brothers and sisters . they had a couple hits but i really like this one -rocket 2 u is a great song . trinidad reminds me of going to cool partys in dallas , hanging out with the disqo disco kids, tony (dj schwa) and blake. i had a great time this summer playing with them . it just has that summer feel to it . im working on setting up an interview with the sydney confirm kids . they are good friends of mine so we need to catch up . last i checked they were working on some new remixes . this track has a great vibe to it . makes me want to go to trinidad. dj orion is the dj for yo majesty and he holds it down in austin . after i left dallas i stopped by austin and had a grand ol'time at a club with some friends , he was playing some cool shit . anyways check him out he is legit . having made it back from dallas , el paso did not feel the same . we had an experiment and tried a tuesdsay thing at a bar but the bar didnt hold up to our requierements . i think the better you plan out someting like a weekly party the better it will come out . so hopefully it will happen soon . me and chris are working on it . well this track reminds me of jess , we had a couple 2x2 were we had lots of fun . the whisler is for sure a soon to be anthem . i read about catz and dogs at shot callin' (lazaro's blog) they are awesome . lately i cant help but play this at every of my sets . i love the random noises. like the screeching cat and the 80's metronome are my favorite. los ninos del parque is an interesting track . it is by liaisons dangereuses a french electro-punk band from the 80's . they influenced alot of people including me and alot of the detroit house scene.
